RUN WILD TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Now one of Kenya’s most well-known sporting institutions, this one of a kind marathon has supported wildlife conservation and community development for the last 22 years. From recovering Kenya’s black rhino population from the brink of extinction and protecting the world’s critically endangered Grevy’s zebra, to providing healthcare, water and improved infrastructure for communities and supporting Lewa education programmes, the funds this marathon raises have always been invaluable to thousands across the country. Now as the ongoing effects of COVID-19 threaten the livelihoods of millions of people across Africa, as well as the future of the continent’s iconic wildlife, this iconic event is more important than ever.
Regarded by Runner’s World as one of the world’s top ten “must do” marathons, and listed as one of the Financial Times How To Spend It’s top 11 sporting challenges for 2022, runners of all abilities take part. This truly unique experience brings together runners from all over the world to Run Wild through Lewa Wildlife Conservancy – a global heritage site in Northern Kenya – in the half (21 km) or 42km (full) marathon race alongside some of Africa’s most amazing wildlife.
Individuals and corporate teams enjoy an unforgettable race day experience, luxurious accommodation in unique camps and lodges throughout the conservancy, and also have the chance to see first-hand the real difference made by the funds raised, by visiting local schools and community projects.
